My Florida!

When we (Lowell, Bret, and I) got to Florida December 4 2011 we went directly to Cocoa Beach. We were so excited! I had never seen the ocean before but Lowell had when he was in the Marines. When we got to South Beach we went directly to the beach. I was in awe! I'm not sure what Bret was thinking since he doesn't speak. I think he was in awe too! We settled in in our 2 bedroom cottage. The owner was really awesome and ordered pizza for everyone for dinner. Fortunately for him , even though it was in December there still wasn't a lot of snow birds to feed!  ðŸ˜‰ We were tired and went to bed a little early.
Here I want to write a little about our trip to Florida. We drove the truck we rented the 3 of us. It was a little crowded to say the least! We also rented a trailer from them to pull our 2004 Ford Free star Van. We packed some of our things in there too! I can't believe how much stuff we had accumulated over 15 years of living in Belton Missouri. I mean really it is just ridiculous! And even after having the garage sale, and giving some of my knik knacks and home decore away we still had alot of "stuff".
The next day we got up and had breakfast. Our little cottage had a kitchen and I fixed us some eggs, Lowell's favorite. We decided to leave South Beach and go on down  A 1 A/Atlantic Blvd and stay in Sea Aire, a cute and cozy cottage with a kitchen area. And it was a lot closer to the water. Right on the beach! We ended up living there for a month. It was so much fun! Oh, I forgot to mention that I had a pet. My cute little Yorkie mix, Jasmine. I called her Jazzy most of the time. Dogs weren't allowed on the beach in Cocoa Beach so when I walked her I had to go around the CocoaBeach area streets and neighborhood. There were Tiki bars and alot of shops, grocery stores, and fun spots like parks and the pier. This might not be a big deal for some people but it was exciting and fun for me since I had never been it this kind of lifestyle before. I wanted to live in Cocoa Beach permanently so on some of mine and Jazzy's walks I would check out some of the houses and try to find some to rent. We spent Christmas there. Here is a silly picture of me. We put our furniture and things in storage. But I would go to our storage locker and drag out some Christmas decorations and decorate our cottage. I even got some crocheting in while we stayed there. I crocheted some Christmas decor!

Florida!

Just 2 more weeks until we move to Florida! Hello Atlantic Ocean, here I come! I have most of my packing done. And I'm having another garage sale this week. I hope I get everything sold! I don't think I'll miss Missouri at all. I'll probably miss my house a little though. And I'll miss my kids/grandkids alot until they move there too. Christy and her family will be coming around Christmas, Ronnie in April, and Marian soon, hopefully by the beginning of the year at least. Shawn will still be living in Tx for another couple of years, then move to Fl too! Yay! All my kids with me! I'll be leaving a couple grandaughters here in Mo, but hopefully they can come and visit. It's hard to believe I have a grandaughter that will be 20 soon!  And 1 and soon to be 2 great grandkids!
So my plans for Fl include fishing in the Atlantic Ocean. Bret will love the Beach! He's my 30 year old special needs son. Well, until next time, XOXOXO!

Blogging My Personal Thoughts and Statusus For 2011

As I said in the introduction, 2011 has been a special year for me and my family. I havn't blogged all year, and I want to get caught up.  So I'll write about events and my own personal thoughts and feelings for certain months of this year. I just want to say this now though because the time is drawing closer: We are moving to Florida in 3 weeks! My husband, my special needs son, Bret, and myself. My 2 grown daughters and son are moving there soon after us. We are all so excited!
But now I want to start at the beginning of the 2011 year to kind of get caught up on my blogging I didn't do all year. My bad! :0

A Long Lost Friend

Hi friends! Well, as you can see, it has been a while since I have blogged. So, to get caught up with what's been going on lately Ill start with a great story finding a lost friend. I am a caregiver and go to training at the office every now and then. Last February I was at one of these training sessions, and met a lovely lady there. There was something about her that I just couldn't put a finger on. But I was drawn to her for some reason. We talked some, but actually didn't have alot of time to get to know each other. We left the training out the door the same time, chatted a little more, then got into or own cars and left. I thought that I would like to be friends with her, but since the training sessions were rather rare, I didn't see how that would happen.
In the meantime I have been hanging out (online) at Facebook. Lately I have been seeing alot of my classmates from school. I am glad to run into them, and think its cool that we can come into contact again through Facebook. We're planning our 40th class reunion for next July. Since I have been thinking about my formal classmates, I have been especially wondering about a friend I met in 6th grade named Mary Ann, and wondering where she was. We also knew each other all through Jr and Sr high school. I have thought about her through the years and would love to find her again. So one day I typed her name in the search field at Facebook. Well, immediately her picture came up(As an adult now). I was pretty sure it was her and she was actually here at Facebook! I was so excited; I clicked on her pic and it took me to her profile. I put in a friend request, and within a few hours she excepted. So we excitedly conversed in messages, and exchanged phone numbers. We made arrangements to meet at a Starbucks. I got there first, then she came in hurridly and said "Hi!, I have to leave real quick and get something and I'll be right back" and left her purse with me so I would "trust her". Well she came back in about 5 minutes with a bouquet of flowers in her hand and told me they were for me. I thought this was so thoughtful and sweet of her. We started talking and got caught up with what was going on in our lives. She told me she was a caregiver, so I was like, "oh wow thats a funny coensodence" then asked her what company she worked for. She told me and it was  the exact company I worked for! Then Mary Ann asked "were you in that training seminar last February?" I said I was, then we both looked at each other and freaked out! "Oh my God!" we said. She was that same special lady I met there and talked to, and was drawn to!!!!! And she felt the same about me -she was drawn to me also. So that nice lady that I had wished I could be friends with at that training that cold day in February was actually my best friend in 6th grade and classmate 7th-12th grade!!!! How amazing is that??!!! Wow! We were both beside ourselves and couldn't believe it. What a coensodence!! So we have been talking on the phone, emailing, and she even came over to my house.I am so happy to have my Mary Ann back in my life. I hope we will never loose contact again!
